Visitors often ask which one to choose. The truth is that they do different jobs. At the Petronas Twin Towers you stand inside the city's icon; at KL Tower you look at it. Neither is objectively better — it depends on what you want from the view, how you feel about heights and how much flexibility you need.

Which one suits you?
Choose Petronas if…
- You want to stand on the skybridge between two supertall towers.
- The architecture and engineering story interests you.
- You like a structured, guided visit with a clear time slot.
- You plan to spend the evening in KLCC Park and at the fountain show anyway.
- You prefer enclosed, indoor viewing.
Choose KL Tower if…
- You want the twin towers in your photo.
- An open-air deck or glass-floored box appeals to you.
- You prefer to visit at your own pace.
- You would like to combine it with a rainforest walk at Bukit Nanas.
- You are staying around Bukit Bintang or Chinatown.
Can you do both?
Yes, and many visitors do. A good combination is a morning Petronas visit for clear views from inside the towers, then a sunset trip to KL Tower to watch the twin towers light up. Our 3-day itinerary splits them across two days.
Free alternatives
If budgets are tight, you can still get great skyline views. KLCC Park and the Suria KLCC esplanade are free, and many rooftop venues only require you to buy a drink. See our photography guide for public viewpoints.
Comparing tickets?
Both attractions set their own prices, slots and rules. We do not sell tickets for either.
